Five Fold Kiss
[Rock] Track: Annie
Lemonrock review: "A highly energetic, foot-stomping rock song,
with great melody, catchy chorus, tight harmonies, brilliant sustained
rock guitar (and great lead work), a carefully crafted arrangement, and
yet... with patches of light and shade, is in a league of its own. Think
Heart, Boston, P J Harvey, Thunder, and you're getting close. This band
is getting a really good local following - see them if you can!"
Five fold revisited. Dog & Partridge, Watford on Sat 10th May 08 |

Its been 10 months since I have had the chance to catch up with these guys, so I figured an outing was due. I also took more people with me this time.
I have to say from the last time I saw them they have made a bit of a journey upwards. They are certainly tighter and more co-ordinated this time than the last, NOT that they were NOT last time but everything about them has very much improved and this time round there was more original work. What I also I love is the fact that no matter what you throw at Chantal, she will take the challenge and sing it, almost always without fault. This band is such an entertaining night out that I have to recommend them. Again that word infectious comes to mind when I hear them play. A thoroughly enjoyable night out. |

Well impressed George II, Luton on Sat 8th Mar 08 |
|
I am a very critical person when it comes to covers bands and especially if they can only do covers! In Five Fold's case I was more than impressed! Not only can Chantelle (the lead singer) sing, but the boys that back her are truly professional musicians. It's easy to pick fault when you're on the crowd side of the fence but with these I couldn't! They write their own tracks (Annie) as well as sing covers very well, banging out tracks such as "The Boys are back in Town", "Dakota" and "Hanging on the Telephone". I really hope they pursue with performing more of their own stuff because it is awesome!

a definite must see
Wellington Arms, Watford on Sat 21st Jul 07 |

Although Five Fold Kiss do mainly covers
at the moment (they're just stepping out with their own stuff), this
is a versatile band with a wide range of knowledge and talent.
Their singer Chantelle has what I call a hard core voice which makes
her perfect for being able to take on all of the collective rock
classics and throw them back at you without losing power. More
importantly they enjoy what they're doing, they're infectious and
entertaining. If you get a chance to go see these guys, then go see
them, they get a thumbs up from me. |

Bingo!
Feltham Constitutional Club, Feltham on Sat 14th Jul 07 |
|
|
|
There I was just coming in for my normal
Saturday night to have a pint, and play Bingo with my friends, when
I was greeted by this band Five Fold kiss. I am not keen on rock
music, I prefer easy listening and or the odd bit of Jazz.
I was amazed at how such a young group of people could perform such
vibrant music, with enthusiasm. I did recognise some of their songs
though at my age, I am lucky to remember anything! I enjoyed
watching the old fools having fun and dancing and trying to chat up
the girls who I think belonged to the band.
I hope that Feltham Constitutional Club have you guys back again!
Next time I will bring my dancing shoes! If I can find them - thanks
again! |

Great Party Atmosphere on Fri
8th Jun 07 |
| |
|
I just want to say a huge thank you to
Five Fold Kiss and Beeson and White for their superb performances at
my 40th birthday party on 8th June. The atmosphere was great and the
music entertainment kicked off with Beeson and White followed by
Five Fold Kiss. People where dancing and actually having fun!!
My guests at the Party had never heard of either Band and were
astonished by their powerful voices and the energy with which they
played. I would certainly recommend them to any one for a party!
The lead singer of Five Fold Kiss, Chantal, even sung one of my
favourite songs by Lisa Stansfield. Just goes to show that if you
request something you may receive it! They finished off the night by
Singing 'Happy Birthday', which was funny to hear at my age. Though
we didn't need to call out the fire brigade - no candles were used!
Thank you all once again - Lorna |

Explosive Atmosphere
The
Cross, Rickmansworth on Sat 26th May 07 |
| |
|
I have never seen so many people dancing
at a gig as I saw at The Cross, Maple Cross when Five Fold Kiss
played. The atmosphere was explosive, everywhere I looked I could
see people dancing or jumping to Annie, FFK's own song.
To begin with only a few people where there, though people where
soon on their mobile phones telling their mates to come down, then
the room was packed!
FFK have played a couple of times there already; each time more and
more people come and watch. They played songs from Stereophonics,
Foofighters, Blondie, Thin Lizzy - the boys are back in town and
they sure are! Queen of the Stone Age and many more, each set I
listen to, there are new songs added. It's great! - they are
certainly worth watching and I would recommend them to anyone - they
even had one of the crowd join them to sing and dance with. |

Singing and Dancing
The Swan, Harefield on Fri 4th May 07 |
| |
|
Five Fold Kiss did it again at The Swan in
Harefield, and performed with great enthusiasm!
The crowd were singing and dancing and it was good to see everyone
enjoying themselves.
My favourite this time was Vertigo. Chantal sang with great
enthusiasm, and her voice just gets better and better each time.
Everyone played really well with beaming smiles on their faces,
thoroughly enjoying the gig. |

Electric!
Inn on the Green, Harpenden on Thu 26th Apr 07 |
| |
|
They played at Harpenden on Thursday and
the atmosphere was Electric. Lots more people this time and they all
seemed to be dancing too which was great! This was their first gig
for a while and they sounded better than before, great pleasure to
watch and each of them are having fun too - which I find some bands
just play and there is no expression on their faces. The female
singer has such a powerful voice and very clear too! I have seen a
couple of other bands who have a male singer, and they seem to shout
rather than sing.
I have only been listening to Rock covers for a short time and I am
still a virgin to the music. I have been following Five Fold Kiss
since their first gig in July 2007. Each time they are more powerful
in he way they play and sound. And I have never heard a group like
this before.
I am actually that impressed with the music that I have hired them
for a private party. I can choose a list from the one they already
have - the ones I like are Who Knew - Pink, Best of you - Foo
Fighters, they do a superb Gnarls Barkley - Crazy, No One Knows and
I could go on, you will have to see them for yourself.
I will be following them for a while yet - each time they are
playing a new set and I have counted I think - 33 songs since they
begun and that is some going. |

wake up denham - they
did!
Martin Baker Sports & Social Club, Denham on Fri 6th Oct 06 |
| |
|
If the members of the club were expecting
a quiet night at the club on a Friday after work, they were very
much mistaken. The band kicked off at 8.50pm. This band is tight,
after getting together this year and starting to gig. A great fan
club was on hand to bolster things along as well. The songs are a
mixture of covers from the sixties onwards and covers from bands as
Thin Lizzy, Led Zep, Blondie, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Steppenwolf
and kept the audiences' toes tapping to such an extent that during
the second half, quite a few got up and danced the rest of the night
away. The band are all very experienced and competent musicians and
a female singer that isn't scared to belt out some difficult songs
and dance at the same time.
All in all a very good night out. If you love rock covers bands you
will love Five Fold Kiss. |
